PHS Girls Soccer Charity & Playoffs

Hi

Thought I’d share a great photo. One of the many charitable events we do, but one of the girls favorites. Picture paints a 1000 words. As a team building exercise, the two teams built these bikes and then donated them to two toddlers that Easter Seals connected us with.  You’ll never know how tall you are until you stoop down to help a child. Many more great photos on our website under albums. www.eteamz.com/phsgsoccer

BTW - Varsity team GPA is a 3.84. Six senior GPA is 3.96. Oh...and on the field, team is 11-0-2. Awfully proud of them.

Season Update.  We concluded our 2012 Spring Varsity Regular Season.  We ended up 12-1-1 in the LVC and carry an overall record of 15-1-2 into our LVC Semi-final match.

The playoffs are being held at JBC Stadium.  Semi-final matches are Monday, Finals are Wednesday.

# 2 Seed Central Catholic will play # 3 Seed Emmaus at 5:00pm
# 1 Seed Parkland will play # 4 Seed Easton at 7:30pm

There most likely is a nominal gate charge for entrance.

We still have two JV matches left.
Tonight they play Northwestern at PHS at 6pm.
Tuesday they will play CCHS at PHS at 5:30pm

JV players are requested to attend LVC playoff and District XI games.  It goes without saying, that we hope the JV parents join them too.

Thanks go out from the varsity team to the JV team for their support not only at last nights game but a special thank you from the players hearts for the amazing decorations and effort put into the locker room.  Sympathies go out to all the moms and dads out there because I think our locker room looked like your daughters bedroom last night.  It was beautiful…but a mess too!! (They loved it)

The TV crew asked me last night if I was concerned with the emotion of senior night and the girls not being focused as they would be for a normal game…especially since it was Whitehall and playoff implications.  You never know where and when you can share something with your team to keep them grounded, for me it happened when I went to the mailbox Thursday morning and grabbed the Parkland Press.  If you did not receive it or hear about it, please get yourself a copy.  Lizzy Andrew said it all.

Saturday’s training session is a joint session with JV and Varsity from 8-10am.  Yard Sale is 9am - 1pm.

Our second season starts next week.  Thank you to everyone that helped make the first one so successful.  I know the girls will be ready to go after what has eluded us for too long…do you have your scarf out and ready to go too!!

….."its not IF we can balance being a student athlete, being charitable minded, and be a good soccer player.  Being a Parkland Girls Soccer Player is all about HOW we WILL balance all of those things."  ~ Lizzy Andrew
