Developmental Programs (U5-U8)

MicroSoccer, KinderSoccer, and Developmental

The Developmental Program is for the youngest players, age 4 to 8 years of age, where the core focus is on the development of skills and fun. PASC does not conduct or require tryouts for our Developmental program. Parents function as volunteer soccer coaches. Coaching clinics are offered by the club to any coach wishing to increase their knowledge of the game.   We currently offer 2 age groups in this program:

  • Micro/Kinder U6
  • U7/8

Players are grouped by birth year, as designated by the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) Player Development Initiative.  Please see our age chart to see the age group your child would be grouped.    Age Groups:  See Age Group Chart*

 

These age groups play on fields located in Wehr's Dam Park in Orefield, Pennsylvania.  More information on these two groups can be found below.

 

Micro/Kinder (U6) Structure

  • Gender:  Coed
  • Location:  Wehr’s Dam Park Scoreboard Jr Field
  • Day / Time:  1 soccer academy per week on Sunday at 2 PM.  A schedule with specific dates and station assignments will be posted prior to the start of the season.
  • Season Length:  Typically 8 to 9 weeks with 1 session per week.
  • Session structure and break down:  Session lasts 1 hour

  4. Scrimmage Game

Teams will be assigned a station and rotate through.  Teams will not be at a set field for the entire session.  By the end of the session, each team will complete all 4 stations.

U7/8 Structure

  • Gender:  Boys and Girls Team
  • Location: 
    • Team Practice and Games:  Wehr’s Dam Park Scoreboard Jr Field
    • Academy:  Please consult schedule - could vary from season to season.
  • Day / Time:  2-3 soccer events week.  A schedule with specific dates will be posted prior to the start of the season.
  • Season Length:  Typically 10 weeks
  • Session structure and break down:  Sessions last 60-75 minutes
    • Practice: 8 to 10 over the course of the season. Practice time and day of the week chosen by individual team’s head coach.
    • Academy*: 
      • Mondays at 5:30pm; field determined by
      • 6-8 over the course of the season with one paid trainer
    • Game:

*Academy sessions are run once a week for each age group by professional trainers to develop the skills of both our players and coaches. These sessions combine all PASC players for that age group and focuses on the technical development of our players. The trainers are licensed, well known, and respected high school and college coaches from throughout the Lehigh Valley.

* U7 age group is often combined with our U8 age group and not provided separately each season.  This is to insure there are enough teams to run our Inhouse League.
